COC Dance Ministry

About Us

COC's goal is to create community through the foundations of ministry dance to people of all ages!

Our Purpose is to give praise & worship to the Lord by delivering emotions and messages through spiritual movement. Our Mission is to teach and learn from others how to connect to God with their mind, body, and soul through movement. Our Vision is to bring awareness of how dance is used to develop and communicate a relationship between you and God.

Our History

The history of COC, or Creators of Change, Dance Ministry began in Cleveland, Ohio in 2025. It was then that the idea came up to create a ministry that would focus on studying the history and foundations of ministry dance, where the various styles originate, and what makes each style unique. At first, classes were held in a small room, and the first group included only 2 people. Since starting, COC have received many requests to teach and minister all over Northeast Ohio.

Who founded COC Dance Ministry?

Our owner is Minister Tyrone "Ty" Dorsey Jr. He's been praise dancing in the church since the age of 15. After the pandemic, Ty expanded his studies to street dance styles (including hip hop, popping, and krump) and ministry dances (mime ministry and flagging). Combining the two cultures, his vision is to bring a respect to the history and emphasis of community from street dance to the church.

  • Not at all. Ministry dances are not established to a particular church and neither are we. The goal is to communicate knowledge and skills across multiple churches to develop the foundation of ministry dance and improve all dance ministries with new ideas and support systems.
